Fillon's wife held for questioning - Reuters

More news on the Fillon saga

Mediapart reports that Fillon"s wife has been held for questioning and Fillon has called for some meetings with the leading members of the republican party.

This all comes after Journal Du Dimanche reported that he has been summoned to appear in front of judges investigating the cash jobs allegations.

There"s also been news that Fillon is to make a statement at 12.00 local time (11.00GMT).

If the bookies are anything to go by, expectations are rising that he may be pulling out of the race. His odds have drifted out to 5/1 from 3/1 earlier, with some firms suspending betting.

It"s now being reported that Fillon"s campaign officer has said he"ll resign, that"s from Livesquawk citing Le Figaro.
