• Q4 capital and financial account surplus $46.4 bln vs flash deficit of -$37.6bln


• final 2016 current account surplus $196.4bln vs flash reading of $210.4bln


• final 2016 capital and financial account surplus $26.3bln

Says FX regulator SAFE:

• 2016 c/a surplus equivalent to 1.8% of GDP


• cross-border capital outflows show large volatility in different quarters during 2016


• renminbi exchange rate flexibility will strengthen in 2017


• c/a surplus will remain in reasonable range
