The Chicago PMI will be the focus, but other data will have some (maybe limited) impact

8.30AM NY time 1330GMT Employment Cost Index for Q4 (

• expected +0.6% q/q, prior +0.6%

• The past 3 quarters have been +0.6% q/q each time - an indication of at least some higher wage & salary pressure. While 0.6% is the expectation  this time around the market may very well be waiting to see what its going to look like under the new administration"s policies.

9AM NY time 1400GMT - S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller House Price Index

9.45AM NY time 1445GMT - Chicago PMI for January

• expected 55.0, prior 53.9

• Its been edging up. Notable in the December result though was a slowing in the growth of new orders.
  

10AM NY time 1500GMT - Conference Board Consumer Confidence, January

• expected 112.8, 113.7
