UK's Hunt says it's "highly unlikely" that parliament would prevent pressing the Article 50 trigger

Hunt was speaking on the Andrew Marr tv show

"I think it is highly unlikely that parliament would not, in the end, back a decision to trigger Article 50." 

adding:

" It would be difficult and indeed unprecedented for the unelected upper house of parliament to block such a decision."

The government has said it will appeal against the High Court ruling and Britain"s Supreme Court is expected to consider the case early next month.

In another development this morning Scotland"s Nicola Sturgeon is said to be one of a few interested parties expected to join a legal challenge against the British government"s plans to trigger Article 50.

 Gina Miller, the investment manager leading the court case against the government, told the BBC:

"We are expecting a number of governments to join us. But their case will be different to ours. They will be talking about their own particular interests."

The plot thickens.
