Mexican economy grows 1.0% q/q in third quarter

Make Mexico Great Again

Mexico reported a strong third quarter with 1.0% q/q growth, or a 4% annualized pace. But it comes on the heels of a series of weak quarterly numbers so growth was just 2.0% y/y.

That would be solid for a developed market but it"s poor for an emerging market. Much of it is related to weak energy and commodity prices. The market is pricing in more pain to come with Trump in the Oval Office.

USD/MXN is up near 13% since election night.
