Nasdaq leads the charge higher. S&P and Dow lag behind.

AMD will release after the close. Apple will release tomorrow after the close and Facebook on Wednesday

The US major stock indices are ending the day mixed.

• The Nasdaq led the way with a gain of 44 points up 0.73%. The high touched 6100.73 before backing off to close at 6091.60


• The S&P closed up 4.45 points or 0.19%


• The Dow is ending the day down -24.72 points or -0.12%

The chip maker AMD will release after the close.

Tomorrow in addition to Conoco Philips, Merck, Aetna, Pfizer and Mastercard, will be Apples earnings after the close. Today, Apple was up $2.95 to $146.60. That is a record level.  

On Wednesday, Facebook earnings will be released. It too closed at record levels at 152.46, up $2.21.
